Hello lovely humans,
I posted a video on YouTube about “How to be Successful” and I thought I would also write it out to explain some thoughts on it a little better.
I believe that being successful in school and in your work comes down to one simple rule: learn more than you are taught.
Sometimes the greatest life skills are obtained through indirect methods.
I learn so much by reading about others and turning inspiration into knowledge.
To be a great anything, do not limit your knowledge to only learning information about your interests. Be smart about life- learn about the world around you, let that inspire your endeavors.
One skill that I personally contribute to being homeschooled is learning more than you’re taught. Subjects in school were not merely just science, history, math, English, or whatever else we were learning; they were opportunities to explore thought.
It’s not really what you do, but how you do it. And how you do it is a reflection and fragment of who you are.
Continue to be inspired. Never stop learning. Don’t be closed off to inspiration.
Inspiration is all around you, look beyond yourself, beyond your school, beyond your field.
Ideas and expansion are limited these days. The best example of this is big businesses.
They often look to their competitors to see what they’re doing so that they can grow and expand, but there’s no inspiration to be found looking at the same ideas, same strategies, and same ideas.
There’s no reason to go and re-invent the wheel, but I do think it’s important to remember that we live in a generation that can fly.
We think to be a good businessman, you have to look up to good businessmen only.
We think to be a good athlete, you can only look up to athletes.
Yes, look up to people in whatever it is you want to do and learn al you can about what you’re passionate about, but also expand your knowledge.
Apply your admiration for their work ethic, determination, or story, into something that fuels your pursuits.
Read biographies about politicians, read articles about explorers.
Look at the world around you, learn about the good and the bad, the success and the failures. Take every moment as an opportunity to make yourself a better person.
Get yourself into a mindset of doing well every step of the way.
That way– no matter how far you get — you at least had an incredible journey along the way.
Learn to be a good person, that’s how you can be great at what you do.
